At Raynham school the policy for RE is based on the Enfield Education Authority’s Agreed Syllabus, which gives children knowledge of Christianity and other world faiths. Religious education has an extremely important role in our school. We live in an exciting time where change and diversity surround us.
Religious education supports our children in understanding their own, and others beliefs, understandings and values. This depth of understanding is important for personal development and for the development of cohesive, caring communities.
Religious education contributes educationally to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all pupils, whether or not they are from a religious tradition.
Through their learning in RE children will develop an understanding of the role and significance of religion in the world and the important beliefs and values that shape it.
